About this roundup
Purpose
A weekly curated digest of news about resilience hubs — community-serving facilities, and the networks, funding, policy, research, and operational practice around them, that help residents prepare for, endure, and recover from climate and disaster shocks. Published every Tuesday morning.
What counts
Resilience hubs and close synonyms: community resilience centers and centres, climate shelters, cooling and warming centers, community lighthouses, and community hubs acting in a disaster-response role — plus the networks, programs, policies, funding streams, and studies that directly build, fund, operate, or evaluate them. A passing one-line mention in a broader story does not qualify.
Editorial focus
Each edition sorts articles into four sections: policy, funding & government programs; new hubs & built projects; operations, community practice & lived experience; and research, tools & networks. A typical edition runs 16–28 articles; an edition is only published if it reaches at least 12 articles across at least 3 sections — a thin week is skipped rather than padded.
Geographic scope
Global. Any country. Non-US and Global South coverage is actively sought and preferred when quality is equal. Non-English sources are included, with summaries written in English.
Selection criteria
Only substantive articles — reporting, policy news, research findings, or first-hand operational accounts — published in the previous seven days by the original publisher. Never events listings, pure opinion with no news hook, vendor press releases dressed as news, content farms, or aggregator reposts. Every summary links to exactly one original source, once.
Curation disclosure
Summaries here are curated and written by this publication; they are not the original reporting. Each entry links directly to the original publisher's article — read the full story there.
